Nifty! It's not like the ones I have previously sold. Those had a 68000
and an MMU or a socket for one.

At $44 I am considering buying this. I have a Cromemco 68000 system (sorry, it ain't
fur sale) but not this card. I like the software switch between CP/M and Cromix.
I just hate ebay! Wish there were a buy-it-now on this item.

I'll pay whatever the card is worth to me tomorrow after noon.
But ebay is infested with scammers/liars/cheats, and ebay will NOT police them. In a real
auction, they'd be 86'd; on ebay you just get solicitations to have them write a
snail-mail (for a fee) to the seller instead of an e-mail that the seller won't
answer.

I believe the usual places have the full manuals and schematics. This got
me to thinking... How delightfully perverse it would be to create an
S100-based Macintosh...

I am not sure what the memory size for the 16 bit extended S-100 bus was
but I am sure a classic 128K ram mac would fit nicely on the bus.
( Ignoring all the dirty little tricks the Mac could have used for I/O and
display logic).

with considerable case damage. The seller claimed it happeend in the

FWIW, I've been cheated more times outside E-bay than on E-bay. Of course
I've been involved in many more of the former deals than the latter.

A lot of comments on my remark about ebay, and I don't think it is useful to respond
to each one separately.
Have I ever been defrauded outside ebay? Yes, but I had effective recourse. There is no
effective recourse in ebay. I won't go into the details; those interested can google.
AUCTION. In "real", physical auction a seller has to put up his goods, a bidder
has to put up money to bid. Bidder can look at the goods, decide whether it is what he
wants, auctioneer guarantees delivery. Seller knows that bidder will lose his deposit if
he fails to complete transaction. Both sides are protected.
NOT SO in ebay. A seller who defaults will not be penalized by ebay until there are
"enough" negatives against him. A bidder who doesn't complete is not
penalized. There is no effective recourse either side.
Virtual auction requires an effective recourse. ebay and its paypal are weighted against
effective recourse for the bidder against the seller, and against recourse for the seller
against the bidder. Default is a serious crime in "real", physical auction
(though rarely taken to the courts).
I have participated in auction all my long life - as a seller, as a buyer, as a data
processing service for auctions. I LIKE auction; I regard it as the best way to establish
the price of something. But these are auctions where are regulated by state laws which can
be invoked in the case of fraud by any of the three classes - auctioneer, seller, buyer. I
have seen those laws invoked.
I am not saying that I won't use ebay. I might buy that 68000 board; it's not big
bucks.
BUT it doesn't change my view of ebay.

I too was defrauded once on ebay. That hasn't stopped me from using it,
because it's an exceedingly useful resource for getting items. Also,

BTW, this is why I alway pay for ebay items via credit card, even though
it's extra hassle to get Paypal to not want to debit my checking
account for the money. I can always get the money back from Visa even
if Paypal can't "recover" the money, if I get defrauded.
Now that ebay requires people to pay via credit card or Paypal (which I
appreciate as a buyer, but not so much as a seller), it's a lot harder
for a seller to make you pay with a method that you can't get your
money back if they're trying to defraud you. Of course, now, as a
seller I worry about people actually getting the things I sell them,
but Paypal coming after me because they didn't properly read the
auction description.
