From my not-a-dedicated-terminal-collector
perspective, what other
reasonably obtainable terminals are as high on the list as the CDC
IST-IIs? DEC VT05, IBM 2260*, early Tek 4000, maybe a Uniscope?
Uniscope? Unobtainium. After 10+ years, I managed to get an isolated
keyboard.
Tek 401x? Made in gigantic quantities and still fairly obtainable,
although not for cheap (was it ever?)
Tek 405x? Similar to 401x although made in smaller quantities.
DEC VT05? I have not seen one up for sale, I don't think this was
made in very high volume compared to VT5x and certainly not compared
to VT1xx.
IBM terminals? I know nothing about them.
Just
about all the other collectable terminals would be quite a bit further
down the list.
Different people collect terminals for different reasons. Beehive
terminals rebadged as Cromemco fetch high price for the Cromemco
label. The same Beehive terminal badged as Beehive tends to get
scrapped for precious metals content.
*Although good luck getting the brain.
With the cyber emulator, that part is easy to handle and much more
friendly to your wallet :).
