For the Springer site, I notice that the instructions for submission
in Word are listed first and the default when the page opens.
For the Oxford site, I quote "Authors should submit Word or rich-text
files by the journal's preferred method. TeX and LaTeX files are also
acceptable."
For the Cambridge site, both Tex and Word are given equal preference.
As of about 2000, Addison-Wesley editors didn't even known what TeX
was, much less have a process for working with an author using TeX.
I was told that I'd have to handle *all* typesetting and formatting
issues myself.
