Surely DEC used machine threaded cores later on. There is a 16k (I think)
DEC board in the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester that must be
machine woven as you can't see the individual cores without heavy
magnification...
Perhaps. But I never heard of core threading machines until today. Just because you
can't see the cores without magnifiers doesn't mean this couldn't be done by
hand. It's amazing what trained hands can do.
