Figuring out what UK prices were in equivalent USD is fairly simple,
but figuring out US prices from that list isn't trivial.
We don't call this place 'rip-off Britain' for nothing - for as long as I
can remember when things have come from the US the price here has been the
same in ukPounds as it was in dollars no matter what the exchange rate
was....the natural reaction was to do your own imports but unless you were
canny with shipping invoices etc you got (and still get) clobbered for tax
and VAT.
