In my younger days, a friend and I put together a Intel Series II
from parts.
We were able to get a 801 but it was
a 50Hz / 220VAC.
We needed 60Hz.
We ground the motor pulley down with a file while spinning
and increase the slot of the motor mount with a rat tail file.
We used a surplus power transformer for an Intel u'Scope
( likely the 8080 one ) as an auto transformer, as Tony
suggests. It worked fine. We never did get all the plastic covers
but we had both ISIS and CP/M running on it. We just had to remind
people to stay way from the HV lead.

This in turn means that the conversion kit
between Europe and the US
consists of the small pulleys and belts, not the spindle motors too.
FWIW if somebody really wishes their 60 Hz Shugart 850/851 were a 50 Hz one instead, I
have a 50 Hz one that I would prefer to be 60 Hz. I'd love to discuss swapping pulleys
and belts.
ok
