VCFE 9.1 is in the books.? Even though I wasn't able to make it,
>from what I've heard it was a great success.? Congratulations to
everyone involved!
And if you didn't get your fill of classic computing (and let's be
honest, who among us could ever get our fill), VCFSE 2.0 is
coming up soon!? In a mere 26 days, the classic computing
community will assemble in Atlanta for the second annual
VCF Southeast.? The slate of speakers is being filled.? Workshops
are being prepared.? A whole CompUSA retail space worth
of exhibits are being assembled.? As an added bonus, last
year's Apple Pop-Up museum will again be available.? It
features an original Apple I and Woz's original wire-wrapped
floppy controller prototype.? Stay tuned as we announce more
details over the next few weeks.
So make your plans now to come join us on May 3 and 4 in
Roswell, GA.

Hi all,
For display at the VCF SE 2.0, I am seeking a non-working core memory
board. Does anyone have one for loan?
Please contact me off list.
Thanks,
Kyle
While trying to wrap my head around soldering QFN chips, I managed to
mangle a Schmartboard[1] and a Texas Instruments TLV320AIC3106[2]. My
problem is that I impatiently omitted flux, which I don't currently have.
The board and chip are crusted with solder in several wrong places. I
would like to offer the chip and Schmartboard to anyone who thinks they
can resurrect and use it. Cost is nothing -- not even postage. I have
some international first class stamps lying around that won't otherwise
get used. So, if you're gung-ho about soldering tiny things like this,
please take these off my hands and out of my mind. I'll order some flux
and more supplies and do this right with fresh materials.

[2] The TLV320AIC3106 is an audio codec chip often found in USB sound
interfaces. See http://www.ti.com/product/tlv320aic3106

I need to part with my MicroVAX.
This VAX actually comes in two cabinets, the main BA215 cabinet and the auxiliary BA215 / R215F storage expansion. Between both cabinets there are 4 hard disks: 1 RF72 (1GB), 1 RF71 (400 MB), and 2 RF30 (150 MB each).
It has a full complement of cards in the Q-Bus chassis:
KA640-AA CPU (M7624-A)
MS650-AA 8MB memory card
MS650-AA 8MB memory card
MS650-BA 8 MB memory
TQK70 tape drive controller
KZQSA SCSI controller
I am including a DEC RRD42-DA SCSI CD-ROM drive in its own standalone enclosure as well as a replacement CD-ROM, the faster RRD43-AA (for the CD-ROM drives you?ll need to supply your own SCSI cable, SCSI terminator, and standard AC power cable).
Also included is the DEC VT420 serial terminal.
Pictures are here:

The unit is in Atlanta. I'd prefer pickup, considering the size/weight, but I'd be open to proposals.
Thanks, Matt

Living Computer Museum is looking to purchase unbuilt or partially built kit computers, such as Heathkit/Zenith and other brands.
We are also looking to purchase examples of home-built S-100, Z-80, 8086, and similar hobbyist-style computers.
Thanks for thinking of us!

I think Rich was talking about the replacements, so I guess your nitpicking
point should have been "Presumably you meant EPROMs?" (instead of ROMs)...
BTW, Motorola also made an MCM2532.
