>it's a museum!!! Emulate hardware for display? I agree, I?m running two 2883s on Access under simulation. I run a single 7900 on the TSB E version, and a single 2883 on the F version. The largest real Access system I ever owned/ran had 1 7920 and 3 7900s. What is that, about 47MB. So two 2883s at about 25 MB each would just over the largest real system I ever ran. If you want real drives, the most rugged of them was the 7900, IMHO. The 7920 was fine, but not as tough as the 7900. The 7905 was the one that seemed to me to crash for no reason at all. I always held my breath when I spun up one of those. It seemed as though every time I got one for my inventory I would have one fail on a customer?s site. So I cursed that drive so much that I would never even try to run one on my systems. BTW Jay, Al, I have a set of 2100 Access micro-code. My brother has offered to take a shot at making copies of the ROMs. He did it once before for me in the early to mid 80s. Perhaps if he can make 2 copy sets, we could send one set to Al to be read and archived, and when he?s done have him forward them to Jay to test the copies in real hardware.

PDP11/73 power-up codes

I found EK-KDJ1A-UG-001 "KDJ11-A CPU Module User's Guide," which might help, because unless my memory fails me, the KDJ = 11/73. I didn't immediately find power-up codes in it -- probably because something like MXV11-B2 or other ROM set issues the codes. If I can find an MXV11 doc, I'll post a message. I used to have one. 3.5 inch DSDD diskettes have landed

Greetings -- The diskettes are here, so here are the details: Certron brand, retail packaged. 10 diskettes per box, with inner plactic sleeve and labels. Still shrink-wrapped. I opened two boxes and formatted 6 randomly-selected diskettes without incident. They look and act brand new. They are packed in two different size cartons: 10-box and 42-box. Weight on the 10-box cartons is 4 pounds, and the 42-boxers are 22 pounds. I'm in Orlando FL, zip code 32810. Price per box is $1, minimum 10-box shipment, plus shipping. Smoke Signal Broadcasting DCB-4E

Does anyone know exactly what a Smoke Signal Broadcasting DCB-4E cards are for? It's and EXORbus card and has a MC6821P and a WD FD1791B-02 LSICs and a lot so SS TTL ICs on it. Does anyone have data for the card? Joe

need some info on some sort of pocket terminal

Hello All, I found an unusual handhel pocket terminal. It's housing is the same as the older LED pocket calculators used by Texas Intruments, but is is not the TM990/xxx terminal as used for Texas own PLC's or TMS9900 based computers. This one is apparently made by Gr Electronics, who were based in the UK and in the US. This is based on the fact that is says 'GR 185-2' on the board. I searched Google, but I couldn't find any info. As the housing was loose, I opened it, and it uses an Intel 8048 microcontroller, has 8 character and has a curled cable which has a DB25 connector at the end. The cable has 7 wires, and when the battery door is opened (this device get's it power via the cable), a 6 position dip switch is revealed. There is also a little plastic block which does do some power conversion (i.e. +5V into + and - 12V)? and a little buzzer. The crystal on the board has a value of 6.144 (Mhz?). What I would like to find out is some kind of information/usage/whatever of this device. It would be great if this device just acts like a plain RS-232 terminal. Thanks, Ed --

Saw this on Ebay. With about seven hours to go the bidding is ridiculously low. The guy wants a local pickup in Los Angeles. If I lived in LA, I'd put in a decent bid on this stuff, planning to sell off most of it individually. Iomec disc drive ?

Hello, Is there any chance that someone has an Iomec removable platter disk drive? The type that I am looking for uses an IBM 2315 style 2.5Mb cartridge, similar to an RK05. I know that this is a pretty futile request, but it never hurts to ask... --tom
