My dad, Garner McCrossen was the main FORTRAN programmer from what I've been to
ld (other than Seymour). I had lunch with Les Davis, Edna Bunn, and Verene Cray
last year (2013) and Les is a gold mine of early Cray history.

It disturbs and alarms me when I hear "my dad" or "my grandfather".

I recall, Garner was responsible for the RUN (earliest for CDC 6000
series) FORTRAN compiler.
Didn't Garner either contract out or work for Sorcim in the 1980s?
Something tickling in the back of my mind indicates he did.
