They don't stock anything Western Digital -- did any company 2nd source the
WD1773 floppy disk controller? They're *damned* hard to find; they weren't
used in that much equipment, except the Tandy Color Computer Disk
Controllers (FD500/501/502, maybe others)
Or is there a way to make another WD chip (say, a 1771) compatible to it?
Also -- this may seem offtopic, but it's not - is there a decent source for
Compact Flash sockets? I'm hoping someday to make a CF adapter for a CoCo,
but haven't found a decent source for the sockets so far...
Fujitsu makes good and inexpensive sockets, we use 1000's (~$3.35 with
ejector) If you want one of our CFADPTs (CF-IDE adapters) just ask, I can send
you a 'blem'...
