My hackerspace (ENTS; http://ents.ca/) recently got a large donation of
equipment and components from an automation company. Most of it was test
equipment but there was also a PDP-11/34 with two RL01 drives. An LP11
and a DZ11 are also installed. Several RL cartridges are included,
although some are RL02 cartridges, and one is a VMS 3.0 distribution
cartridge. There are also a few boxes of documentation that we haven't
gone through yet (although I'd be surprised if there were anything there
that's not on Bitsavers).
It draws a bit too much power for us to run it there, so we are looking
to sell it. I am not quite sure what is a reasonable price is, but I'm
thinking somewhere around $200-$300. However, we are open to offers. I
just don't want to see it scrapped. The buyer would have to either pick
it up or pay for shipping themselves.

If you don't mind splitting the lot up, I would be interested in buying the VMS 3.0
RL02 pack for my VAX-11/730 project. I'm probably willing to buy any other RL02 packs
for my PDP-11/44 project, too.
I'm running short on space, so I'd rather see somebody else adopt the computer,
RL01 drives and their associated packs. I'm also a bit scared of how much truck
freight might cost across an international border.
I think it's definitely worth sorting through the documentation. I've already
found several manuals that came with my 11/730 that aren't in the wild as PDFs yet,
and scanning them is on my to-do list.

It looks beautiful, and I'd buy it in a heartbeat if I was (much) closer and
wasn't already so overstuffed with computers!
I'm still interested in buying any of the RL02 packs that don't match its RL01
drives, especially the VMS one(s).

Well I'm glad someone got it, I was really wanting to get it but I
couldn't afford to take the 3 hour drive there and 3 hours back from
down here in Calgary. Hopefully someday I can find me an 11 here. Only
one I know of is an 11/05 sitting on a shelf in the computer repair
room at the UofC.

Is there a reason you can't get that one? Surely it's no longer needed
for spare parts :D

There may be disks in the drives, but the spare cover shouldn't come from
one of them. When you load a disk into an RL, you put the cover,
upside-down,, on top of the disk pack. If you don't, the cover interlock
switch doesn't operate when you close the drive, so it won't spin up, etc.
