I just found the original 9-track tape that says
"MPE/V RELEASE 3P FOS
Tape For the HP3000 P/N 32033-10452 Rev G.3P.00 DATE CODE 3419". It is
in SYSDUMP format which (I think) means that it is bootable.
Yes, it would be bootable.
IIRC "FOS" stands for File Operating system.
Will this OS run on the GX?
Are those tapes all that is needed to set up the
Yes. Actually, just the FOS tape is needed to install a bootable system on
a hard drive.
Who exaclty is looking for the tapes?
Do you have a bootable 9 track drive?
Are you willing to pay shipping and return the tapes when done?
I have an HP 7970E (1600 bpi PE), if the tapes are in this format. I'd be
willing to copy them to tape image format and pass the images along, if
that would help Jerry and Paul.
I'm located just north of Baltimore, MD, and I'd be willing to cover
shipping, as I'd like copies myself.
