The principle behind a rocket engine is obvious. The rest -> is just minor improvements. Attitude and trajectory control is -> much less -> obvious. Doesn't take long for a gyro alone to drift enough that your -> V2 misses london entirely. A Minuteman is a lot more accurate than a -> V2 and has a longer boost phase.
