and all the ones I've head of are, but I though other gear sets were
avaialble, perhaps to give 75 baud or something. Or was tht only fro the
model 32 (5 bit Murray code)?
For the 32 I think the gear speeds were 45, 50, and 75 baud. (For 60,
66, and 100 wpm; with 66 being only really prevalent in Europe and
places that needed to talk to Europe.)
For the significantly less crap model 28, gear speeds were dependent
on particular features. For example, the machine could be producing
5N1, 5N2, 5N1.42, 5N1.45... all sorts of options with required
different gears. Speed wise, the machines came in 60, 66, 75, and 100
wpm. (The 32 might also have had 75 wpm (56 baud) gears, but I'm not
sure.)
The model 35 teletype was based on the model 28 equipment, and it
showed; the machines are built like tanks, and are less fragile than
the 32 or 33. (The 35 still speaks the 1963/1965 uppercase only ASCII
of the 33 though.)
I think there was also a model 38 which was like the model 37 (a 33
stretched to 14-7/8ths inch wide platen, with full the 1967 ASCII
we're familiar with), but based on the model 28/model 35 technology.
You'd have to ask someone at GreenKeys about that.
Cheers,
Christian
