Does anyone have a cpu IO panel for the KDJ11 pdp11/83-93?
This is the panel that mounts on the back of a ba23 or ba123 enclosure and has baud rate
switch, console rs232 port, and LED status display.
I be interested in buy or trade...

I assume that was a typo and you mean M8190 11/73 or 11/83, not the
M8981 11/93, which uses a completely different panel.
If you do happen to need the panel for the M8981 11/93 there is a
listing on eBay for those that is 3+ years old:

Typo. Meant to read 11/93-94.

not implement any floating point emulation at all and I had no luck
getting either 2.11BSD or RSTS/E 10.1 to run on it.

I have a complete QED993 board with IO panel. I did not know it was identical to the

I was aware that the 993 lacked floating point hardware when I bought it. After applying
a bunch of patches, and hacking a few files, I managed to get enough of 2.11bsd running to
run the chess program. Floating point in user space fails completely, however.
I plan to finish the rest one day soon, and release a software floating point 2.11bsd.
I assume the QED993 was sold as a drop in replacement for the M8981
11/93 CPU board (minus FP support) and was designed to be compatible
with the existing DEC console panel.
I did make an attempt at rebuilding the 2.11BSD kernel with the
patches for CPUs without FP support but was unable to get anything to
work. I didn't do any hacking of my own other than apply existing
patches. If you got it to work at all it would be good to document
what you had to do.

My guess is that the 'purpose' was that it was available, its been built
long after DEC stopped making 11/93 CPU boards.

IIRC, you could buy the 11/93's still in in the beginning of 1990s...
