I don't know if you got it, but there was at

for $2800 bucks.
It didn't bid on it, but you've got me curious. I know what sniping is,
but what constitutes "a lame snipe attempt"? And, for that matter, a
"moron
bidder"?
Just my opinion, we have had this argument before.

Look at the original listing link, the the [27 bids] to see the bid
history, then "Show Automatic Bids" This shows the entire history both
automatic and human.
Keep note of the final time 8:55:54. Mr. (46) bid an amount of 2750
just around a minute to go, and was outbid by whatever Mr (751) had put
in 7:58PM the day before. So he had a minute to figure out how to come
up with more money. Hardly a good time to figure out that he didn't
have enough. He should have known the night before and put it in if he
was going to wait tilll only a minute before the end, since he probably
didn't have more to reasonably bid (or he would have) and an entire
minute is an eternity in these situations. Hence, "lame". If I want
something, I put in an incredibly large amount, which I bet (751) did
and I do it at about 15 secs left. If I'm on an actual budge, i might
put it in earlier.
Second on an item like this, what was the point of (247)'s 25 and 30
dollar increments? if he outbids, he will only be slightly over the bid
in place. IF he doesn't he is an asshole to spend the money of someone
else if he doesn't want really want to bid enough to take it. I mainly
snipe to avoid these idiots. I use the data they generate in
formulating my amount to bid, but if I do put in what I call a "guard'
bid I wish the ground or ebay would open up and they'd fall in and be
covered with ants and festering boils. there is no justification to
drop in and run up the bid and clearly not want it other than either
being a shill or an asshole.
Others have and will disagree, but that is the long form of my answer.
I buy a lot on ebay for my collection, and don't like to have to deal
with these things, but they are a fact of life. The bad sniper is
justified, just lame. the moron is at best a moron, at worst working in
collusion with the seller to run up the price.
