Using your logic above, it's just "plain wrong" that you didn't have a
flurry of communication with Fred Hatfield to wise him up that he
should hold out for more money.
If the reseller is culpable as you describe, then YOU are culpable
because you clearly have the knowledge of what these sorts of things
are selling for and you didn't alert Mr. Hatfield.
