I don't think you mean C5 (or C6). That's a
3-pin, the one sometimes
called "mickey mouse ears", and one of the less-common types. I mostly
see it on Toshiba laptop power supplies.
A relative of a mad friend of mine calls it 'figure of twelve'(by analogy
with 'figure of 8' of course), a name which seems to have stuck around
here...
IIRC Maplin sell (or sold) an IMHO lethal adapter to use s a figure-of-8
female with afigure of 12 male. That is, to ignore the earth pin on the
device. No thanks!
Doe s a rewirible C5 socket exist? I've not seen one. I have seen (and
used) a rewirable C7.
