Elm shows HTML as plain text so that all secrets are
revealed. :) I just
delete HTML only mail.
That's exactly what I do. Well, if the html mail comes from somebody I
think I recognise, I try to make sense of it (and send a nastygram
back!), but I do that by hand, so I spot any odd-looking links.
Ditto for mime-encoded mail (or even uuencoded mail). If I am not
expecting it, I delete it. I certainly don't execute it!
I'm going to get caught one day, but it's a lot harder to hide stuff in
mail that's read on a text-only machine that doesn't automatically
interpret html (or anything else for that matter)
