Weren't there
accessories, peripherals, and/or third party displays
for just about anything?
If you are talking 1960's I think the real answer is "not much". I
notice he mentions DEC but the DEC VT05 was 1970 and that was their
first standalone display. The IBM3270 was 1971. Cheap third party
display like the ADM3a was 1975 or so. I did use IBM 2260 screen on MTS
on the 360/67 at Newcastle, England but I must say it was horrid. These
were available in the 1960s. The Tek Storage terminals were also 1970's.
The OP didn't say CRT Terminals.
The PDP1 had a type 30 vector display in 1960.
He also said ignore DEC but it interests me ....
How many PDP-1's were build? Did all PDP-1's have the Vector Display ?
The 338, 339, and 340 vector displays were from about
that era. The
DEC 339 display docs have a 1968 date on them.
Found the manual for the 339. Looks a wondrous piece of kit. Again any
idea how many were made....
