Do you object to format=flowed, when the sending MUA has also
wrapped
the lines at a reasonable length? As far as I can tell, that's what
Thunderbird now does by default.
I suppose if you do that, then the receive MUA isn't required to cope
with format=flowed (which IIRC says you are free to *reformat* it any
way you like, including ignoring EOLs in the existing message as well
as adding them). That would be preferable because it still allows
MUAs that support format=flowed to do whatever they want, but flows
the text to a reasonable length for MUAs that don't support
format=flowed.
