My wife records a soap opera during the day, General Hospital, on our
HD
Tivo. It easily is in the top 10% of the highest quality images that
I've ever seen on our TV. The image is incredibly sharp, color
vibrant,
detail is fantastic. I'm not sure if it's the cameras, the video
processing they use, or what, but it looks pretty damn good.
I hate to come to the defense of soap operas, but this has been my
experience.

Maybe there IS a difference. The one my wife watches - which I call "Day of Our
Lives", since the plot line seems quite simplistic and repetitive - looks and sounds
terrible. And I don't just mean the stories.
