sniping and sealed-bid auctions. Just bid what you're prepared to

Hang on a second. If you list something with a
starting bid of, say,
$50 and you notice that plenty of people are wathcing the item and
yet nobody bids on it, doesnt; this suggest your starting bid is too
high?
Or they're all snipers.
