4105 and 4205 pretty much have the same instruction set, but the
capabilities of the 4205 were extended in terms of numbers of colors
and some of the more fancy options.
If you look carefully at the ESC sequences, the 410x and 420x
terminals are basically the GKS standard in firmware.
The way most people used these terminals was to use a GKS
implementation that supported the terminal. For instance, DEC GKS
supported the Tektronix 4107 which is pretty similar to the 4105 but
with a larger screen resolution.
I guess I should look for docs on the 42xx, just
noticed I don't have
anything on them. Even the 41xx programming
and service info was tough to find.
I have documentation for the 4205 and some other terminals. Its in my
queue to scan.
