Because it looks MUCH prettier (look at all those Flip Chip modules; it
looks just like a "Giant Brain"), and it was the first. Plus it's much
rarer than the 8/e.
Certainly, if you just want to run an 8, you'd be
best advised to avoid
the Straight 8.
Sure, but for cool factor, the straight-8 wins hands down.
