Sounds like maybe RT-11 (with which I'm admittedly
not familiar) is
considering some metadata that differs (or is missing) in one of the two
files--even though they look the same in a byte-for-byte compare under
DOS?
RT BINCOM compares files byte-for-byte from beginning to end. Flat
file structure, no metadata to compare. I would believe it before
I believed the DOS compare...
