Ok, now you've got me wondering... I've never heard of anything like that
on this side of the pond. Why exactly do you have to purchase a license
to own a TV? Is it similar for AM/FM radios? ...
The money goes to the BBC
(British Broadcasting Corp), and I feel it is
well worth the relatively small amount per person to get such great,
ad-less TV.
Before you UKers tag me on the "great TV" bit, just think about channel
5, on channel 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.
