I'm definitely a fan of the IBM Model M

went to a nearby computer shop to get one. ?They were out of stock and
loaned me a used model M to use until they got more new keyboards in.
After using the keyboard briefly I called the shop and asked if they
had any model M's for sale. ?They told me I could just keep the one
they loaned me, free!!
A couple of years back, the local electronics recycler (which
maintains a small storefront for items they believe will sell)
advertised that they had PS/2 keyboards for $3 the each.
So I went over and asked where they had the PS/2 keyboards. ?I was
pointed to a rather substantial pile of Dell, E-Machine, Acer, ?etc.
keyboards. ?I went back to the counter and said I couldn't find any
PS/2 keyboards. ?The guy looked at me as if I were an idiot and
walked over, picked up the keyboard lying on top and said "Here."
I responded that he'd offered me a Dell keyboard, not an IBM one and
certainly not one from a PS/2. ?Quote he "What do you mean, IBM
PS/2?".
Sigh. ?So quickly we forget...
I think that's more than a bit unreasonable, TBH. "PS/2" *is* the
standard name for the connector; if you wanted an /IBM/ keyboard, fair
enough, but if they were PC keyboards and weren't XT, AT or USB, then
they *were* PS/2 keyboards and he was answering perfectly correctly.
