Think DEC built the first minis? Not so fast...
I'm pleased to announce that we have just published a new, carefully researched
article on
Tronola.com which explores this very question:
http://tronola.com/html/who_built_the_first_minicomput.html
A very nice read here on friday morning. At the very least, it's nice to
be introduced to "minis" I did not know about beforehand.
I suggest looking into two new computers:
SAAB D2 and FACIT DS9000:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Datasaab_D2
http://www.teleseum.se/DS9000.html
Unfortunately I don't know much about these machines and information is
scarce (at least in english). I would guess that they fall of the list,
the D2 because it was not commercially available and DS9000 because it
was only 12 were made.
Thanks you,
Pontus.
