  In Win8 there is a whole new programming model for
creating apps with
 the new interface, which will coexist with the existing "desktop"
 interface. Win32 and .NET are effectively deprecated from Win8 on.
 It's a very big deal in  the PC world. A preview release has been
 available since the MICROS~1 "BUILD" conference, about a week ago. 
   .NET is being deprecated??  They're still trying to get more people
to move to it!  WTF?  (not that I'll miss it, but I'll miss the "clean
up" revenue)
