Nonsense. If the code is uncared for, then it will become a ghetto.
If the code is cared for, then it will remind you of a nice
neighbourhood where you'd like to live.
In every case, past and present, where I've seen dodgy code, the
situation was always the same: the owners of the code didn't care.
