Well, they;'re listed in most of the catalogues, sure. But in terms of

I am suprised, given that most consumer devices come from companies that
sell worldwide, adn wil lre-use modules/designs wherever psosible.
Sonsumre devices here often have VF displays (which are often blue-green,
althoguth I have seen one (on a Philips unit?_) that was almost the same
colour as a green LED, and could easily be confused with it [1])) Red LED
displays are common too, as are LCDs backlit in various ways.
[1] I can tell the difference. I've been inside the device too, and I
have the service manaul. No way is it an LED.
The HP 8657A signal generator comes to mind. Also, my microwave
oven's clock is green LED. My bedside clock at home is as well.
