That certainly hasn't been my experience; I've found that SCSI Just
Works at least as often as any other external device interconnect,
possibly excepting good old serial lines.
Agreed. The biggest problems I saw were down to people not properly
terminating buses, or using poor connectors/cables/terminators, or
attaching faulty/failing devices to the bus and then blaming SCSI itself
when things got glitchy.
*early* devices were problematic, however - I've got various gadgets and
boards which claim to be SCSI but aren't quite compliant because they
existed before the spec had really settled down.
