Dunno--but I've had the experience of walking around the inside and
through a computer.
I think it was about 1973 or 74, a friend of mine had taken a job with
Honeywell in Phoenix (the old GE computer plant--there were still a few
old bits of GE mainframes left around). At any rate, the wizards at
Honeywell were experimenting with direct water cooling--chilled water
was piped (using clear/translucent plastic tubing) around open racks of
boards where it contacted copper diaphragms which, in turn, contacted
components needing cooling. The whole affair was in an open-topped
cabinet affair perhaps 10 feet on a side. You entered through a
doorway, where you had easy access to the racks.
I was given to understand that algae was a problem with the setup.
