The oldest spare CRT that I have is probably still
somewhat newer than
that; a CRT from an old (late 1940s, I would guess) DuMont
oscilloscope.
Somewhere I have an RCA 906 from the 1930s. At this point I have so many
WW2 era CRTs I don't need, I basically dump them. Unless, of course, they
are P4s.

Volumes could be written about the British military nomenclature systems
for tubes, and the heavy drugs used while dreaming the systems up.
Is it also some sort of storage valve used for memory?
Sell the VCR97s on Ebay, and buy more computer junk?
VCR97s are pretty common - they can even be found in the U.S. (probably
Lend Lease production).
