I almost agree with you but I would like to see a newsgroup. It will
just allow us to reach a broader group. I think Bill Whitson did a good
job of putting this discussion group together, with his simple yet
effective qualification process (who are you and why should you be
allowed to be in this discussion group). I think thus far we have had
some really good discussions on some good stuff. The same can't be said
about a newsgroup because off-topic messages and superfluous cross-posting
of drivel are inevitable.
But...
Bill! How many
people on the list now? They maybe only represent
10% of the people who love these
clunkers but at least we are all
family!
Keeping it to ourselves is counter productive. The point is to share the
knowledge to get more people interested to preserve more computers. The
point is we do this because we have passion for the systems. Every hobby
is going to be prostituted some time or another. As long as your passion
remains, its all good.
