Typically, they're actually referring to the connection. The AT keyboard connected
with a 5-pin DIN connector and had a clock and serial data line; the host polled the
keyboard, which sent keyup/keydown messages. The PS/2 keyboard connector used the same
physical and logical layer in a 6-pin Mini-DIN connector.
Not that you needed to know, but now you do. :-)
