Honestly,
with most any SPARC system, VNC is Your Friend.
Why is that better than X?
(I've been running Solaris or Linux as my primary desktop/laptop OS at
home and at work for nearly all of the past 8 years, so "VNC clients
run on Windows" is not helpful to me).
