Then you have to protect them for 100 years, too. Not so easy. I guess some
people on this list have never googled "deforestation".
There are efforts going on to create harvestable and sustainable groves of
dalbergia melanoxylon (African Blackwood) in Africa and Florida. This is
the wood most commonly used to make bagpipes and other woodwind
instruments. It's been going on since the early 1990s. I'm particularly
fascinated by the Florida efforts.
