I wonder how much a 2" CRT costs in bulk.... of course after the
glass, you have to have a frame buffer and video driver for each of
them. Even if the CRTs are VGA compatible, that's a lot of VGA
adapters. You'd probably want to build a custom card cage and reuse
discarded ISA/PCI VGA adapters and drive the whole thing with custom
circuitry.
