The termination is 50 ohms.
BTW: When dealing with RF (radio frequencies) and coax - an "open" to DC is a
"short" to RF. In other words, the entire signal is refelected back off of
the end of an unterminated RF line (in this case Ethernet) - which
essentially cancels ALL of the signal.
BTW2: One must also match the required 50 ohm impedence with the proper
transmission line - which in the case of thin Ethernet would typically be
RG-58/U.

Okay/fine on termination - a trip to some local

(providing the roads are passable - snow due in tonite..) will take care
of that.
But, because my Ethernet experience is over 20 years old now - 50 or 75
ohms?
And then I'd still like to know if the Manuals for the DECServer 90L+
are archived anywhere? Then I can print 'em out and be Smart...
(he he that'll be the day...)
