Doesn't it just use the flat files if the Netinfo server isn't available
? I seem to remember a "hit ctrl-c to continue" window that pops up. It
probably wasn't the server but, you never know. I am not actually sure
what they are trying to do from the article. If they just want the files
they should just mount it on something else and copy them.
