I hate the idea that every keyboard with the funny symbol must carry
an acknoledgement to MS on the bottom. I wonder if there's a royalty
that goes along with it, or if it's bundled in with the Windows
license.

that I don't know what happens with the "Windows" key on
a 5170, but I suspect it's ignored with or without a beep.
What happens when you press <Ctrl>-<Esc>?
