Thank you, no. Years of sitting in a computer room with clattering card
readers, screaming line printers and the damned high-level white noise
of tape drive vacuum pumps have me cherishing the silence of modern
systems. One might as well wish his dentist to provide the nostalgia
of 1940's dental equipment.
I do not understand the propensity of humans to WANT noise, be it the
nerve-jangling rumble of a Harley-Davidson exhaust or the continuous
oozing of garbage from a radio.
