How does that make it any less a real auction?
It is not in that the pace or order of the action need not have any
bearing on the buying process.
And as i pointed out the urgency to bid is not there since the auctions
never end (by ebay anyway) till the end of the time period.
I had Billie Pettitt point out that he ends the auctions himself it
there is little action to discourage the sniping I'm a fan of. That
does not result in a sale, unless it is terminated by an Buy it Now
option.. So that does not restore the live auction. If you want to
have a sale in the end you have to leave it for sale, and let it go to
completion. Relisting is cheap, so this may work out. I've not
personally ever had any success with auctions which ended in this
fashion. In the few cases I had it happened and reached the seller the
item was taken off the market for various reasons. If it is put up in
on a buy it now / offer basis I'll respond as soon as I find it.
This is more of a bidding process than an auction.
