The last time I had to do some cleanup after logging, there was a lot
of slash to be burned. I collected all of the styro "peanuts" and
block foam that I could find and dumped it all into a drum of old
diesel. Instant napalm--made a great firestarter.
While it's terrible for the air quality, some old timers still use
tires to start slash burns. They burn very hot.
