probably apple or potato. They don't last long after you peel them.

them with the skin! I have getting that crap stuck in my teeth though.

Apple pie is better with them peeled.
I use a Victorinox/Forstner? knife. I have an apple lathe that is about a
century old, but it's slower than a fast knife.
