Are working
SCSI drives really that hard to find where people would
rather spend $75 on an adapter that can't do 1MB/sec [...]? I think
using a USB thumb drive is more about convenience being able to
connect them to a modern PC to load up on programs then about
finding a working SCSI drive.
Everyone thinks this way...until drive breaks, head
locks on disk,
there is a head crash or something like that and you [lose] all your
(unbackuped) data :)
That's a reason to do backups, not a reason to avoid spinning rust per
se. You should do backups anyway; thumb drives and SD cards fail too,
after all.
