Console line is plugged into another computer that has
a program that sends
over the microcode and software.
It takes a long time.
I did not know you could feed the brains thru the serial line - I
thought it had to be from one of the few peripherals KS10s like. Good
to know.
Well, I was letting it warm up when it ran, I know
better than to just turn
it on and just off again.
How long is it safe to let it sit, then? (There's also the fans to worry
about.)
Years. "Modern" caps do not "unform" very quickly at all. There is a
much greater risk of blowing a cap because a seal has gone bad, and
there is nothing that can stop that.
