If you're going to hack this in, and if there's no other current limiting, be
sure to include a fuse for, say, 1/2-1 ampere in series with the diode, else
the diode or, worse, something else, e.g. a trace or a cable, will become the
fuse in case of a short.

In the case of the Apple Mac+ (and maybe others), it is possible to get
it to source Termpwr. You have to solder a suitable diode at position
CR1 on the logic board ('digital board', whatever). This will provide
Termpwr on pin 25 of the DB25 connector.
It's clear that's what position CR1 is for on the board, so no idea why
Apple didn't fit it as standard.
